Belarus Selection Procedure

Belarus on it's way to another "National Final"
Belarus announced the rules for the selection of their 2009 entry for Eurovision, which will be called "Eurofest 2009"

A 4 steps selection will be initiated starting on 05.10.08 to 20.11.08 and an open invitation has being sent to singers to who are permanent citizens of the country while song writers can be foreigners.

* At first a professional jury will select 15 songs which will compete at the semi final which will be aired by First Channel of Belarus.
* In the semi finals - a mixture of jury and televote will select 2 or 3 songs which will go to the final.

* Eurofest winner will be voted in the final (3rd phase)

* The 4th part of the show for Belarus this year will include a series of shows following Belarus representative preparations to the Eurovision.

I ask why on EARTH are they going into so much troubles ? we know perfectly well that they will forge the results and send who ever the brodcaster delighted to honor or who ever it got money from - there is NOTHING democratic or selective in the Belarussian National Final

it's just a sham contest with results known from the begining and as we witnessed it in the previous years - there is nothing Democratic nor in proper managment as it concerns Belarus and Eurovision.
