Netherlands Selection procedure

The Dutch broadcaster is giving the veterans another run at the contest with "De Toppers"Including Gerard Joling who took part in the 1988 Eurovision (when all of us were a lot younger - i was personally in 3rd grade and just getting the hang of it - read in my personal history here) and also Gordon who tried to get to Eurovision but failed at the national selection in 1990 and coming very close 2nd in 2003 Selection, The third angle of that trio is Rene froger.

There will be a national final hosted for them on the 01/02/2009 in which they will sing 6 songs or so from which the winner will be selected according to the votes of the audience and the juries and everybody can submit a song for their national final with the 23/11/2008 being the last date for anyone who wants to, to do so.

The band is quite popular in The Netherlands and they fill up the halls on a regular basis. Interview with them available on esctoday.
