Meet and hear the Finnish contestants

The 12 artists who will compete in the Finnish final has already being announced already sometimes ago (Here), so now it's time to hear what they have to say about their upcoming Eurovision participation.
The artist will be competing in 3 semi finals (with YLE National website
re-lunch with the 2009 version of it on December alongside the entries
participating) and a 4th semi final who will give another chance to the entries
failing to reach the final. (Thanks Juha from ESCtoday for suppling the info)

Semi Final 1 Song 1 / Kwan

Kwan are promising plenty of glitter. The lead singer Mariko has won the Finnish version of Strictly come dancing (Rokdim im kohaavim in Israel). He is Finnish but the band is multinational and they see it as an advantage. they have just being on a tour in Moscow.

Semi Final 1 Song 2 / Tiara

Works as a singing teacher, she said she was surprised to be invited by YLE to take part in the selection as she consider her style different from the usual Eurovision music.

Semi Final 1 Song 3 / Tapani

admits he finally got fed up with Eurovision national selection by his last participation in the 80's but was happy to be invited by YLE to take part as the contest is more evolved those days according to him.

Semi Final 1 Song 4 / Riika

As a backing singer for previous Finnish entries in 1996, 2004 and also being part of the interval act in the Eurovision hosted in Helsinki in 2007 she feels very experienced and ready for the contest. she describes her song as melancholic but beautifully curved ballad with an flavor of ethno.

Semi Final 2 Song 1 / Sani

Will work in cooperation with Maki Kolehmainen and says she has got 3 songs already to pick from for her entry to the contest and the one selected will probably be a catchy dance number but won't involve all that circus around her while singing. She has hopes to finally get it this time with this, her 4th attempt to reach the Eurovision stage.

Semi Final 2 Song 2 / Passion works

The band mentioed that the vocals will be shared by the female lead singer & Toni Turunen who is a relative of Tarja who was the lead singer of the band Nightwish who also took part in this selection. The band will very likely to have the hardest entry in the contest but also trust that it's the best entry.

Semi Final 2 Song 3 / Remu

Says he answered the call of YLE because of the record company who is behind alot of Finnish successful acts like Nylon Beat and such. Remu will soon release an album who is considered "Rock Tango" by genre and his National Selection entry will picked from there.

Semi Final 2 Song 4 / Waldos People

Mentioned their feeling about the need for Finland to try a dance act since most other genres has being given a fair chance to represent the country in the contest. They also mentioned that they have quite a hard time choosing between two songs that they deemed very strong as their entry for the contest, but anyway it will be an international & energetic hit they will go with.

Semi Final 3 Song 1 / Sigmark

The band had already had their fair share of exposure around the world. They include 3 members one of them, 30 years old of age is deaf since birth.
The band will use the American sign language and English in their entry hoping to reach a wide European audience who use the language in their lives.
Band member Marko who has followed the Eurovision his entire life hopes the band can bring
something different to the contest.

Semi Final 3 Song 2 / Janita

Janita has lived outside of Finland the last 12 years and sees it as an advantage to her in terms of the contst and was surprised to get invited to take part and also glad about the eurovision musical change in the recent years. being an artist since the age of 14 she is describs her entry as alternative soul.

Semi Final 3 Song 3 / Vink

Describe their style as fast and rocky with an angle. The band includes five school friends and they say they are surely going for the winning. The roots of the band are in the minority who speaks Swedish in Finland but they are singing in english.

Semi Final 3 Song 4 / Jari Sillanpaa

Wonders if his third participation will bring him the luck of winning the contest (if you ask me he had a wonderful entry in 1998 but he got very shunned by his 2004 entry) and is very fond of his memories participating in the contest in 2004 but expects the show to be a very unforeseen event in Moscow. He mentioned that he is hoping to go to Moscow with a power ballad this time which will allow him to show his vocal range.
