Bulgaria Quarter Final 1 Report

OK so the first ever National event for 2009 has just being aired and it was very exciting to see the start of the very 2009 Eurovision season, at least for me even thou it wasn't concerning a big event but a quarter final in Bulgaria and that's it.

i got back from my business outside and got into soulseek to find if there is someone that is going to watch it, or at least interested but there wasn't - however people were starting to pop about the event later and asked if there is a stream that can be watched throw - the stream address that Esctoday supplied was dead by everyone so it started and on to song #2 i wrote only from what i saw when i downloaded the stream from BNT website.
so the show has opened with Mariana Popova (singing it's Eurovision 2006 entry) and proceeded with greetings by the two hosts and presenting some people who looked like clones of dr. Ruth the sexology guide,, The husband of Angelica Agurbash (Belarus 2005) and a terrorist of el kaida .

Later it was made clear that those are the juries who will select one songs out of the three who got picked and it was explained after we saw Dima Bilan sweating himself to death in Serbia and getting that despicable victory that could be secured only by the deceit which is considered our voting system.

In the meantime the host has started to give out pillows with Dima face on them - one with a black background was handed gracefully to his co. host which at start hesitated but than openly embraced into her heart, much like the Dr. Ruth clone who got the same pillow only in white.

so after everybody has done saying how excited they are, exchanging gifts and other gifts of their devotion the show kicked in and got on the road.


Song #1 - Monika Kirovska - I won:

After a little interlude and sharing juicy details about the singer Monika started singing
her song which was on the same note like her last year's entry "Bring me back my freedom"
and i thought doesn't she over with that bastard who treated her like terrible - isn't there a time to move on in life ? but never the less a very nice song.

Song #2 - Emil Sokolov - Deystvitelnost ili izmam:

Looking like the father from "The Addams" Emil Sokolov wearing silver shirt and black pants sounded like he is going to choke any second like our dear Gili from Eurovision 1989 but managed to walk off the stage peacefully after singing his entry

Song #3 - I Velina - Ready for love:

Looks like she was going to head to the local gym and on her way changed her mind and decided to come and sing in the national final - dressed like someone who going to a gym singing "Ready for love"

Song #4 - Perfect Stranger - I Promise:

Just by looking at them you can tell they might like the movie "101 dalmatians" since they dressed in black with white dots & shapes (well more like the anti version since dalmatians are the oppsite...) , and their ties weren't a certificate of sanity either.


Song #5 - Venelina Milanova - Neka s pesen:

Last song in our show was sang by Venelina which created a mix with I Velina (but that's for me to close with the production later) but unlike I Velina she wore stunning leather and making some effects that might make you think you ate a hallucination mushroom.

OK! we have being throw all the songs and it was the time for the juries to say what they thought about each song when in a little square we can see Monika sending away kisses to and being excited, Gomez Addams Twinkling and sending his warm greetings to the people who are sitting safely in Sofia while The dalamatian group and the gymnast were sitting frozen on their spot and Venelina Milanova waving 'everyway that she can' to everyone who can see her.

After this chitter chatter was over we were introduced to the artist who was on the role of "The Interval Act" and opened the voting window of 10 minutes with a video clip of his in Spanish
and than with an endless chatter about concerts and other stuff in dry tone and when he was tired of it he went to the stage and preformed one of his acts which to the regret of some in soulseek was not in the contest since to be honest it was on of the only acts that didn't look like they fell from another planet.

Later after a hysteric red sign has notified us that the time for voting has ended the host being an average cheerleader asked the female host to come to the stage and she on her part walked in holding the envelope with the results in an importance tone while the juries (Dr. Ruth, The husband of Angelica and the El Kaida terrorist sat safely in their chair) and with that note the results has revealed that the juries selected I velina (The gym girl) and the audience selected perfect stranger and I Velina, and since I Velina was already in by the juries - Venelina Milanova got lucky as got qualified as well as she was 3rd with the televoting.

The show ended with a birthday note for the female host and left the audience at home to strive with the scares that the entire gig left in them (and which the telenoble that was broadcasted later didn't really helped to heal).

1. Monika Kirovska 5th 2.28%
2. Emil Sokolov 4th 4.86%
3. I Velina 2nd 32.22%
4. Perfect Stranger 1st 38.60%
5. Venelina Milanova 3rd 22.04%

Since I velina was already qualified by the juries vote the 3rd which is Venelina Milanova got the 2nd qualification ticket.
