Slovenian Selection procedure

Slovenia will keep the old format for this year national selection for a 3rd year in a row with a little adjustments here and there.

The Slovene National selection or "EMA" will take place in February 2009 with 20 artists taking part - 10 of whom were invited by the Slovene broadcaster RTVSLO and 10 of which a committee will select.

The 20 entries will participate in 2 semi finals - 10 entries each and the top 5
entries will qualify for the final who will include the 10 qualifying entries from both semi finals, and on the final night the 2 songs who will come on the top of the score board will compete head in head in the big final taking part on the very same evening which the winner of the two will go to represent the country in the Eurovision of 2009.
