Greece goes on a declaration of intents

Greece broadcaster ERT presented the group who will be working on the Greek 2009 Eurovision efforts - in a press conference that took part in Hilton hotel in Athens.

The Singer who will be presenting for Greece in 2009 is no less than the
meritorious Sakis Rouvas who passed in a storm through Eurovision 2004 and also hosted the notorious Eurovision 2006, and the aim is one "Eurovision 2010 in Athens!"
Full Story - Esctoday

* Greece was the first country this year to announce their participant for
Eurovision 2009.

* No date or venue were confirmed for the final, but it was suggested by the local media that the 17.02.09 might be it.

* The Maggira sisters (hosted last year show and commentated from Belgrade for Greece) will host the show.

* Sakis will perform 3 songs by Dimitris Kontopoulos (who wrote
Kostas Martakis entry for 2008 Greek national final) and the show will be choreographed by Fokas Evangelinos who did it for Greece in 2005 and also for Ukraine & Russia in 2008, but unlike 2008 this time he will not be working with another country.

* Johnny Kalimeris (ERT executive) said that in 2004 they didn't really know what's going on but since than he thinks they have mastered it but still there always will be bumps in the roads and therefore a lot of serious work is needed which includes consistency, great effort and a big promo tour - i am sure that Sakis will be able to handle it and i hope we will find the courage too (oh come on! you make it sounds like you are going to represent Andorra or something... and not probably repeating the Dima Bilan Syndrome from last year)

* Sakis said he is complimented to come back to the contest which he has good memories of and wants to do his best but also he is also happy he will be working with a team he has being working with for a long time.

*
Sakis said that the songs will be customized to him when he was asked if it will be by Eurovision standards or fixed to his personal liking.

* He assure everyone that the entire team are now much more experienced than in 2004 and they are going well prepared."
